Tips while choosing Appliances

Cook top /Ovens

Free standing range cookers can be used with a stainless steel finish or colourful enamelled design and you can choose  from  a

single or double oven model. Whether you prefer a single or double oven, look for automatic programmes that take the guesswork out of cooking by suggesting the time, temperature and oven shelf for your dish, memory functions so that you can cook your favourite dish at the touch of a button.

Hobs

A good hob is a must in every kitchen and the latest trend is for induction which is energy efficient, ultra quick and safe. It works by heating the pan and not the hob. Gas is still popular as its familiar and offers instant heat and there is some gorgeous gas on glass hobs available, which offer touch controls and an easy clean finish.

Microwaves

You can create more cooking flexibility by adding a microwave to a bank of built-in appliances. Many manufacturers offer a compact collection of microwaves, steam ovens, coffee machines etc with a 45cm height instead of traditional 60cm.

Dishwashers

Contrary to popular belief, dishwashers use less water than washing up by hand and the latest models offer a range of water-saving features to conserve water and energy too.

Tips while choosing Accessories

Cutlery Organisers

Cutlery organiser trays when placed in draws do away with chaos and clutter, especially when you need to find things in a hurry. This kitchen accessory comes with compartments of various sizes that are suitable for stocking spoons, forks, knive, and tongs and so on.So try to avoid placing a cutlery drawer directly below the cooking hob because the continual opening and closing of the drawer for utility items becomes impediment while cooking.

Pullout Baskets

Consider differently sized drawers to accommodate pull out baskets for deep and shallow storage. But each basket has a specific loading capacity so they should not be overloaded. These are fixed with telescopic channels or rollers and hydraulic hinges and they should not be subjected to rough use otherwise the channels and hinges do not allow the cabinets to open and shut properly.

Bottle Pullout

Bottle pullouts are a smart modular kitchen accessory because they optimise narrow spaces of the kitchen. These have a narrow width and compromise 2-3 deep, narrow shelves that are suitable for storing bottles of seasonings, cooking oils, sauces etc. They should be ideally placed near cooktop for easy accessibility. Also these hardware parts are fabricated in stainless steel but they won’t rust and resistant to corrosion.
